To be clear:
- The Aave protocol has no dependencies whatsoever over balancer v2 and is completely unaffected
- The Aave/stETH stkBPT in the safety module (now deprecated) uses a custom version of a balancer V2 pool that doesn’t use many of the balancer v2 components and due to its design, is also unaffected to the best of our knowledge
Since the root cause of the hack is still unclear, we are continuing investigation to make sure there are no attack surfaces
